Play It Again Kids is a Boutique Children’s Consignment store in the heart of Nelson. We help parents provide fashion-forward, affordable options for their kids - offering the styles and quality everyone wants, at prices all can afford.

We need a Student Retail Associate, who shares this belief and embraces our goals of sustaining and developing our local and global environment and communities through our services, commitment to recycling and humanitarian support.

If you'd like to learn more about operating a small business, marketing, finance and the customer service industry, this mentored position is right up your alley.


Our Retail Staff are vital to delivering our high standards of customer service… standards which keep customers and consignors coming back, time-after-time.


You’ll be a confident self-starter; ready to hit the ground running in a busy and fun working environment. You’ll have a natural affinity with people and especially children, display an understanding of customer needs, and be willing and able to develop your skills and put these to work!


About The Position:


This is a paid temporary, part-time role, for up to 10 hours a week during the fall, winter 2021 and spring 2022. You would be required to work every Saturday, during the School Holidays and possibly a few hours during the week, should you have a spare. Would start ASAP

While you’ll be required to work as part of a team to meet store objectives, your individual responsibilities will also require you to demonstrate good customer service and sales skills.  

You will need a good eye for detail, and show exacting standards when it comes to selecting consignor inventory.


Job Responsibilities Include:​
  • Complete a business orientated project that fits your career goals

  • Book and administer consignor appointments

  • Conduct photography and updates to social media and website

  • Assist clients with customer service needs 

  • Help with merchandise pricing & displays

  • Research product information

  • Cash handling duties

  • Clean and help to organize store and stock room areas

Applicant Requirements:
  • Applicants must be a full time student, in school throughout the employment period

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Must be aged 16 or older prior to employment start date

  • Some previous experience in retail or customer service preferred

  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 40lbs

  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in self-development & learning

  • Show an understanding of customer service needs and customer priorities 

  • Must be articulate, presentable, friendly and outgoing

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must be able to commit to working approximately 10 hours each week for up to 38 weeks.

  • Be comfortable using computers
